Press and data

Find dated facts and their sources. This test site uses made-up venues, so do not report the figures below as UK statistics.

Test figures — do not publish

There are 13 test venues and 9 test results. 5 are marked as audited. Bars.co.uk made up every record to test the site.

Suggested wording

“There are [X] current Food Standards Agency records classified as Pub/bar/nightclub in [area], based on data imported on [date]. [Y] venues currently participate in the Bars.co.uk Responsible Community Venue Standard, including [Z] audited venues.”

Keep Food Standards Agency directory data separate from the voluntary Bars.co.uk standard. We do not know how many listed venues have an alcohol licence, so do not describe the list as “all licensed bars”.

How to describe a ranking

Name the result type, area, year and number of venues: “[Venue] ranks first among [number] current audited Bars.co.uk Responsible Community Venue Standard venues in [Area] for [year].” Do not mix audited and self-certified venues.

We keep a dated copy of each yearly ranking. Live rankings can change when results expire or are checked.
